Construction Industry Outstanding Young Person Award 2025

Objective

Construction Industry Council (CIC) organises the "Construction Industry Outstanding Young Person Award 2025" (CIOYPA) to recognise and honour the achievements of young practitioners who have excelled themselves in their career, and also contribute to the betterment of the construction industry and the community. It is believed that the Award will inspire fellow young practitioners to strive for pursuing excellence, promote industry image and contribute to our society.

The Award will recognise outstanding practitioners engaged in the 3 major categories in the construction industry as follows:-

Categories	Practitioners
Business and Management	e.g. Engineer, Planner, Surveyor, Persons engaged in business operation, Project Management, Supervisor and Safety Officer, etc.
Frontline Production Personnel	Registered construction workers under the Construction Workers Registration Ordinance; (e.g. Registered Semi-skilled Worker, and Registered Skilled Worker, etc.)
Technology Transformation, Design, Academic and Others	Academic (e.g. Professor, Lecturer, and Teaching Fellow, etc.), Technology Transformation Leader (e.g. BIM Practitioner, AI, or Automation), Architect, Designer, Community Engagement Leader and Others

Eligibility of Nominee

•	Must be a Hong Kong permanent resident
•	Aged 20 to 40 (Born between year 1985 and year 2005)
•	Nominated by one Proposer only
•	Be able to attend the initial screening interview, final judging interview, community service day, and the Award Presentation Ceremony

Eligibility of Proposers
Must be a Hong Kong permanent resident and aged 20 or above; or a public / private organisation registered in Hong Kong.

Judging Criteria
Personal achievement of the Nominee; his / her contribution to the construction industry and the community at large and his / her vision and commitment to Hong Kong.

Award
Awardees will be presented a trophy at the Award Presentation Ceremony, and will be invited to participate in various construction industry-related events and conferences to promote the sustainable development of the industry and enhance the professional image. Proposers of the awardees will also receive a trophy in appreciation of their nominations at the Award Presentation Ceremony.

Initial Screening Interview
Initial Screening Interview will be arranged in May - June 2025 by the Selection Consultant to verify the information obtained in the nomination form, to examine the eligibility of each nominee and to shortlist a list of nominees for final judging interview.

Final Judging Interview
All short-listed nominees will be notified and invited to attend the final judging interview by the Panel of Judges held in August 2025. The nominee will be informed of the date of final judging interview within four weeks after the initial screening interview.

Result
All information pertinent to the nominations will be treated confidentially and will not be published unless the nominee is selected. The result and information of awardees will not be released by the CIC to the public and media until the official announcement in October 2025.

Judging Panel
The jury is composed of a chief judge, industry leaders and professionals.

Selection Consultant
A third party independent selection consultant will be appointed to support the selection process.

The decision made by the Panel of Judges will be final and binding.

Nomination Procedures

The online nomination consists of two parts: (a) Nomination Form and (b) Proposer Form

To complete the Nomination, both forms must be filled and submitted.
1. Complete and submit the " Online Nomination Form" (including uploading a self-introduction video)
2. Check your confirmation email, which will include the link to the "Online Proposer Form"
3. Invite one nominator to complete the "Online Proposer Form" via the provided link
4. The proposer submits the online form
Nominees are bound by the terms and conditions of the Award set out in this Online Nomination Form and the CIC Construction Industry Outstanding Young Person Award 2025 website. Please read the documents carefully before preparing and submitting your nomination. Failure to comply may lead to disqualification of your nomination.
