  • About the Award

    The CIC Outstanding Frontline Supervisor Award recognizes supervisors from contractors, specialist trade contractors and subcontractors in the construction industry for their extraordinary achievements in trade management, professional development, safety promulgation, and social contributions. The award aims to drive continuous professional advancement among frontline practitioners in the construction industry to sustain manpower with skills and expertise.

    Objectives

    • Promote the craftsperson spirit, commend frontline supervisors for their contributions to the industry and society, and elevate their professional image.

    • Recognize frontline supervisors’ pursuit of excellence, improvements in quality and productivity, commitment to the well-being of self and others, and promotion of high-quality work practices.

    • Highlight the unity and caring spirit of the construction industry to the public through the acknowledgment of frontline personnel.

    Assessment Criteria

    Awardees of the Outstanding Frontline Supervisor Award must demonstrate outstanding achievements in all of the following FOUR categories (at least one item in each category):

    Trade Management
    • Team management and developmen
    • Cross-trade collaboration and protection
    • Awards/Appreciations received for managed construction projects
    • Application of technology in Hong Kong construction projects, e.g.:
      • Automation machinery
      • Robotics
      • Drones
      • Smart Safety Site Systems (4S)
    Professional Development
    • Attainment of trade tests, intermediate trade tests, and other construction qualifications
    • Completion of construction-related courses (excluding safety courses)
    • Career progression
    • Relevant Appreciations/awards
    Safety Promotion
    • Completion of construction safety-related courses (excluding mandatory basic safety training (Green Card))li>
    • Practical experience in site safety
    • Safety-related Appreciations/awards received between 2023–2025
    Social Contribution  Participation in:
    • Volunteer services
    • Environmental practices
    • Training and knowledge transfer

    Nominees with exceptional performance in a specific category may receive an Excellence Award.

    Eligibility

    • Nominees must be nominated by the Contractor in the construction industry, Registered Specialist Trade Contractors or Registered Subcontractors registered under the Registered Specialist Trade Contractor Scheme (RSTCS). Registered Specialist Trade Contractors or Registered Subcontractors must hold valid construction industry levy contractor code or RSTCS registration at the time of submission. All participating companies will receive a Certificate of Appreciation.
    • Nominees must hold a valid Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card.
    • Each nominee may only be nominated by one company.

    Selection Process

    • Contractor in the construction industry, Registered Specialist Trade Contractors/Registered Subcontractors submit nominations and supporting documents.
    • Independent consultants and the Secretariat conduct preliminary screening and evaluation.
    • Final awardees are selected by an industry judging panel.

    • Outstanding Frontline Supervisor Award-Category of Specialist Contractor / Subcontractor (Frontline supervisor)
    • Outstanding Frontline Supervisor Award-Category of Specialist Contractor / Subcontractor (Ganger)
    • Excellence Awards in any one of the categories (Trade Management / Professional Development / Safety Promulgation / Social Contributions)
    • Certificate of Appreciation for awardees’ nominating companies

    Terms and Conditions

    By making a submission to the CIC Outstanding Frontline Supervisor Award (“Award”), you (means “participating organisation” and “you” and “your nominee”) agree to the following terms and conditions (“Terms”) .

    1. Nominations and supporting documents must be submitted online by 11:59 PM on 30 June 2025. Submitted materials (including forms and documents) will not be returned to you under any circumstances. Late submissions will not be accepted, the timestamp recorded on CIC’s internal online platform shall be definitive.
    2. You are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all submitted information and documents. CIC reserves the right to request supplementary materials with incomplete/false information.
    3. CIC shall not be liable for any delays, omissions, errors, or data loss arising from technical malfunctions (e.g., network, hardware, or software failures).
    4. Any post-submission changes or additions to nomination details must be communicated immediately via email ([email protected]) by the participating organisation’s contact person, including the nominee’s name and application reference number.
    5. You warrant and represent that you have the right to use and disclose all submitted content (e.g., text, images, videos) to CIC and you hereby grant to CIC an irrevocable, royalty-free and perpetual rights to use, reproduce, and publish such materials across all media platforms (e.g., websites, publications, events) for promotional purposes, without payment of any copyright or service fees by CIC to you.
    6. You hereby grant to CIC-authorized personnel, independent consultants, and judges full access to all nomination materials, and your nominee consents to the direct transfer of such information between the issuing authorities of certificates and qualifications held by your nominee and CIC.
    7. In the event that interviews are deemed necessary, shortlisted nominees are required to attend as scheduled. Failure to attend without a valid excuse may result in disqualification.
    8. You are responsible for maintaining the integrity and the positive image of the Award. The decision to accept or decline any applications shall be at the sole discretion of the CIC. Any application that is suspected to violate the Terms will be disqualified.
    9. If your nominee is selected as a winner of the Award (“Awardee”), you must keep the results confidential and shall not make any announcement of the outcome before CIC’s official announcement.
    10. CIC, independent consultants, and judges may require your nominee to present the original works/documents for verification.
    11. CIC reserves the right not to confer awards in any category if no nominees meet the required standards.
    12. Awardees must participate in the Award Ceremony (tentatively 16 November 2025) and related promotional events. Failure to attend may result in an award revocation.
    13. In consideration of CIC permitting you to participate in the Award, you agree that CIC may take photograph, film and/or record the Award related activities including but not limited to the interviews and the ceremonies. You consent to the use of your image, likeness, and voice in any recordings, photographs, or other media captured for promotional, marketing, or other purposes by CIC across all media. You hereby waive all rights to claim compensation or ownership of such media.
    14. The participating organisation represents and warrants that it has procured the nominee’s execution of the Declaration and Consent Form in the Annex and the provision of the duly signed Declaration and Consent Form to CIC is a condition to CIC making the award to the nominee.
    15. CIC reserves the right to revoke awards, disqualify nominees, and take action against entities found to have submitted fraudulent, misleading, or inaccurate information to recover for CIC’s loss and damage.
    16. CIC reserves the right to amend these Terms and suspend, or terminate the Award at any time without prior notice. CIC accepts no liability for any final change, suspension or termination.
    17. In case of conflict between the promotional materials and the Terms, the Terms shall govern.
    18. In the event of any dispute arising from the Award, the decision of CIC shall be final and conclusive.
    19. No person other than CIC and you will have any right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Ordinance to enforce or enjoy the benefit of any of the terms and conditions of the CIC Outstanding Frontline Supervisor Award.
    20. In the event of any inconsistencies between English and Chinese versions, the English version shall prevail.
    21. These Terms shall be governed by, interpreted and construed in accordance with the laws of Hong Kong. You irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
  • Personal Information Collection Statement

    1. The personal data provided by the participating organisation will only be used for purposes directly related to the assessment, implementation, promotion of the “CIC Outstanding Frontline Supervisor Award”, as well as the promotion of future awards. Additionally, the personal data will be used for administrative purposes and enforcement of the Terms. CIC will erase the personal data after the aforesaid purposes have been fulfilled.
    2. By submitting an application, the participating organisation warrants and undertakes that it has obtained from each individual whose personal data is provided in the application his/her consent for the disclosure and use by CIC of such personal data for the purposes set out in the Terms.
    3. You may request access to, and request correction of, your personal data held by us. Such requests may be made by sending an email to Construction Industry Council, 38/F, COS Centre, 56 Tsun Yip Street, Kwun Tong, Kowloon for the attention of Assistant Director – Registration Servies (Data Access Request).
