About the Award
The CIC Outstanding Frontline Supervisor Award recognises frontline supervisors from contractors, specialist trade contractors and subcontractors in the construction industry for their extraordinary achievements in trade management, professional development, safety promulgation, and social contributions. The award aims to drive continuous professional advancement among frontline practitioners in the construction industry to sustain manpower with skills and expertise.
In line with the CIC's designation of 2026 as the "Year of AI", this year’s Award places special emphasis on recognising frontline management professionals who effectively integrate sound professional management practices with advanced intelligent technology thinking. The Award commends individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and strategic insight in driving tangible improvements across worksite safety, operational efficiency, and team management, setting exemplary standards for industry excellence.
Objectives
• Promote the spirit of craftsmanship commend frontline supervisors for their contributions to the industry and society, and elevate their professional image.
• Recognise frontline supervisors’ pursuit of excellence, improvements in quality and productivity, commitment to the well-being of self and others, and promotion of high-quality work practices.
• Highlight the unity and caring spirit of the construction industry to the public through the acknowledgment of frontline personnel.
• To recognise management professionals who effectively leverage technology tools to enhance frontline management efficiency and safety performance.
Assessment Criteria
Awardees of the CIC Outstanding Frontline Supervisor Award must demonstrate outstanding achievements in the following FOUR categories, with at least one recognised achievement under each domain:

Nominees with exceptional performance in a specific category may receive an Excellence Award.
Eligibility
- Nominees must be nominated by the Registered Specialist Trade Contractors or Registered Subcontractors registered under the Registered Specialist Trade Contractor Scheme (RSTCS). Participating companies must hold valid RSTCS registration at the time of submission. Previous awardees of the Outstanding Frontline Supervisor Award are also eligible to nominate frontline supervisor for participation. There is no limit on the number of nominations. Registered Specialist Contractors or registered subcontractors are required to provide a valid registration number under the Scheme upon submission of the application form. All participating companies and nominators will receive a Certificate of Appreciation.
- Nominees must hold a valid Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card.
- Each nominee may only be nominated by one company or one awardee of the Outstanding Frontline Supervisor Award.
- Each nominee is required to attend the initial screening interview, final interview, and the award presentation ceremony in-person.
- Each nominee must not have received any award in the Outstanding Frontline Supervisor Award.
Selection Process
- Contractors, Registered Specialist Trade Contractors/Registered Subcontractors, or awardees of the Outstanding Frontline Supervisor Award submit nominations and supporting documents.
- The initial screening interview will be conducted between August and September 2026. Independent consultants and the Secretariat will assess the nominees and shortlist candidates for the final interview.
- Nominees who successfully pass the initial screening interview will be notified and are required to attend the final interview to be held between September and October 2026. Award recipients will be determined by an industry judging panel.
- Award recipients will be presented with a trophy as a form of recognition at the Award Presentation Ceremony on 29 November 2026. All participating companies and nominators will receive a Certificate of Appreciation.
- The list of award recipients will be uploaded onto the CIC's website after the Award Presentation Ceremony.
